How to Select the Small Water Pumps?

2020-06-28

In recent years, the social ownership of agricultural water pumps in China has increased significantly, especially small agricultural water pumps represented by submersible pumps, self-priming pumps, etc., which are favored by users because of their low prices and easy operation. However, due to the large number of manufacturers of small water pumps, the technical strength is uneven, resulting in a wide range of product quality. Coupled with factors such as operation and improper use, many users have caused new troubles and even suffered a lot of losses in the economy. According to statistics, at present half of the annual production of agricultural water pumps in my country is used to replace end-of-life products. Therefore, how to choose a durable and satisfactory water pump and how to extend the life of the water pump have become the issues of great concern to the majority of users.

First, choose standardized water pump.

(1) What is a standardized water pump

The standardized water pump is the latest type of water pump developed and promoted by the country according to ISO requirements. Its main features are small size, light weight, excellent performance, easy operation, long life and low energy consumption. It represents the latest trend in the current pump industry.

(2) How to choose a water pump

When the user selects the pump, it is best to go to the sales point approved by the agricultural machinery department, and be sure to recognize the manufacturer. It is recommended to give priority to the purchase of water-filled submersible electric pumps, and to see the brand and product quality certificate. Never buy products with "three noes" (ie no manufacturer, no production date, no production license), otherwise problems will occur and users will be helpless.

(3) What brand of pump is better

As a user, due to the limitations of professional knowledge, it is difficult to determine, the best way is to consult experts in pumps. If there is no one to consult, you may wish to consult some old water pump users, especially those who are close to their own use conditions. It is a wise choice to buy products that these users can trust, reliable quality and mature. At the same time, the single-phase pump or three-phase pump should be decided according to the local power supply.

Second, choose the pump that meets the requirements of the lift.

(1) Pump head selection

The so-called head refers to the required head, not the height of lifting the water. It is especially important to choose this pump to clarify this point. The pump head is approximately 1.15 to 1.20 times the lift height. If the vertical height of a water source to the water consumption site is 20 meters, the required head is about 23 to 24 meters. When choosing a pump, the head on the nameplate of the pump should be close to the required head. In this case, the pump has the highest efficiency and it will be more economical to use. But it is not necessarily required to be absolutely equal, as long as the deviation does not exceed 20%, the pump can work under more energy-saving conditions.

(2) How big is the nameplate lift

Choosing a pump with a lift on the nameplate that is much smaller than the required lift will often not meet the user's wishes. Even if it can be pumped, the amount of water will be too small, and it will even become a useless "idle pump". . Whether the higher the head of the purchased pump, the better? actually not. If the pump with high head is used for low head, the flow will be too large, causing the motor to be overloaded. If it runs for a long time, the temperature of the motor will increase, and the winding insulation layer will gradually age and even burn the motor.

Third, choose the right flow pump.

The flow rate of the pump, that is, the amount of water output, should generally not be too large, otherwise it will increase the cost of purchasing the pump. Specific problems should be analyzed in detail, such as the self-priming pump for the user's own draft, the flow rate should be selected as small as possible; for the user's submersible pump for irrigation, the larger flow rate can be appropriately selected.

Fourth,Several issues that should be noted in use.

Correctly mastering the use method is an important factor to extend the life of the pump and reduce economic losses.

(1) For submersible pumps

Before starting, make some necessary checks: whether the rotation of the pump shaft is normal and whether it is stuck; whether the position of the impeller is normal; whether the cable and cable plug are broken, scratched, or broken. Pay attention to observe the change of voltage during operation, generally controlled within ±5% of rated voltage. In addition, the position of the pump in the water is very important. It should be selected as much as possible in a place with sufficient water volume, no silt, and good water quality. It should be suspended vertically in the water. As a result, the amount of water produced has dropped sharply or even cannot be pumped.

(2) For self-priming pumps

It should be placed in a well-ventilated place as much as possible to facilitate rapid heat dissipation and reduce the motor temperature. Otherwise, it will burn the motor easily after long time running. For example, when a farmer uses a self-priming pump, the plastic film covering the motor is not removed, which causes the motor to overheat and burn out the coil. In addition, before starting, be sure to check the amount of water stored in the pump body, otherwise, it will not only affect the self-priming performance, but also easily burn the shaft seal parts. Under normal circumstances, the water should be discharged 3 to 5 minutes after the pump is started, otherwise it should be stopped immediately for inspection.

(3) Pump maintenance

When the water pump fails, don't disassemble it yourself. When disassembling oneself, one is blindly disassembling one by one without knowing where the fault is; the other is that there is no special tool which often damages the original intact parts. The best way is to go to an experienced, large-scale repair point to repair, and timely replacement of "overage" parts and certain wearing parts. Under normal circumstances, the pump should be repaired every six months to prevent work with "illness".

(4) Non-use period storage

During the non-use period, the pump should be lifted away from the water source and the water accumulated in the pump should be emptied, especially in the cold winter. Then place it in a dry place. Conditional users can also apply butter to the key parts of the pump and add lubricating oil to the bearings to prevent corrosion of parts. In addition, the non-use period of the pump is not as long as possible. If it is not used for a long time, it will not only easily rust the parts, but also reduce the service life of the pump.
